farmers market:
thee is a huge gap in the universe between people inspired to find locally produce food and those providers who are usually really good at producing and not very good at marketing or fulfillment.
Basically there is a gap between a 'stand' at some weekend market and a grocery store that needs to be filled.
Farmers Market will fill that gap with a SaaS solution where farmers can log on to update inventory and prices and consumers can search, place orders and arrange delivery either from the producer directly or a middleman who consolidates.

Social/Web2.0 setup wizard
The problem:
The social networking / Web2.0 services world might be intimidating for someone who has no personal presence on the Web (your grandma), or maybe just has a meager Facebook or MySpace page. FriendFeed and others do a good job of managing the diverse services/accounts, but you still have to create accounts and set up your profiles individually. You may not know what accounts you need or want (do I need a Twitter account?) or what each service does differently (e.g. digg vs. delicious vs. stumbleupon). You ask newbie questions like, how do I get a blog up and… more11 votes -
Health Journal Service
The sole purpose of this service is to provide a channel for your recording your personal health in a secure manner. Events such as what meals were eaten, when drugs are taken, occurrence of pain, etc are manually sent to the account. From the other direction, the account could send reminders, praise or drug warnings when they are announced.
Armed with this information, an individual are more aware of their actions has to their health. Another possible idea is requesting cheaper insurance with a record of your healthy habits or improving habits.

Not Just A Meal
Breast cancer not only impacts mother, daughters or sisters but it also affect the family. The emotional distress can be quite over bearing that the daily routine is somehow dulled. I have personally been informed friends and relatives of cancer patients occasionally offer large meals to share as a comfort mechanism. This site is to coordinate the effort to prevent too many meals or too little meals arriving at a time. It can also detail the foods family members likes and dislikes.
The original idea was designed as a volunteer service, but revenue could be generated by ads or for… more

Fix My Street - the US version
There is a working version already in the UK but nothing I know of here in the US. It's a way to report potholes, street lamps out, signs damaged, etc.
A good community based project that allow citizens voices to be heard...and forces governments to react.

Philanthropic Local Search
There are lots of players in local search including Google, Yahoo and MSN.
How can you compete with these?
Easy...make every click count.
Step 1 - Build a business model around premium memberships for local companies or an ad-revenue model.
Step 2 - Collect as much information about every business as possible, by creating power-users that provide content.
Step 3 - Encourage users to create an account to save their preferences and make life simpler (i.e. home address, cell phone #, etc). When they create their profile they also pick a charity they want to support.
Step 4 - As… more

GPS position alarm
This is an alarm that gets triggered based on time and location. This can be easily implemented on a GPS capable cellphone.
Let's say you want to take a nap in the train, and you are sleepy and want to wake up when you are 10 miles away from your destination. Set a GPS position based alarm that will ring when the train reaches the pervious station.
Or lets say you ran out of milk at home, and you are about to go to a party. You want to stop by at a gas station on the way back, and… more

MiSuGo.com
MiSuGo (Pronounced Me-Sue-Go) loosely translated is "Mine, Yours, Go" and is a social sharing website for trading rooms or homes for travel purposes, however, it can be expanded to share just about anything.
Many of us have guest rooms that go unused 99% of the time so why not put them to good use by making them a MiSuGo room. Users setup free accounts and get a set number of credits when they setup their MiSuGo room for use by other users. These credits are used to book free nights (with owners approval) for other MiSuGo rooms in other cities,… more

Fun GPS App
We've all heard the regular GPS voice ("Turn right here", etc.), but I'd like to give that voice some personalities. A Granny profile might say something like, "No, dear, that's the wrong way." A Lewis Black profile might say something untype-able here, like "Turn the F around." Just for fun.

Travelers Phone App
Travelers need sleep! This app would tell a caller what time it is on the other end of their call and give the caller the option go directly to voice mail rather than having the phone ring.
